Just Stuff

Oh, there are several big and deep topics bouncing around my brain. Things involving step-daughters and evil step-mothers (one of whom I should be so lucky to be!), financial situations, impending events and current tasks at hand. But, I don't much feel like delving in. Some things just bring out hurt feelings and resentment and I like Carrie Fisher's quote best on that. "Resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die." And so I'm doing my best to resist taking the poison. And one might argue, "oh they're just teenagers" and I'd get your point, truly I would, but I seem to recall knowing EVERYTHING when I was that age and this is not the way I'd behave. Especially NOT if I wanted someone to buy me a car.

Did I take the poison anyway? Maybe.

Well, in other news Kevin was notified that his blood pressure has reached high stroke risk level and we were required to buy a home blood pressure monitor. I'm not really sure I get why. Just to make sure we watch it be dangerously high day after day while doing nothing about it? You know me, I'm nothing if not a J desperate to "Do Something"! There's a problem we should fix it, not WATCH IT for a month.

But, we're watching it because that's what the doctor said to do. 147/103 is evidently scary high. And I am trying to convince Kevin to join me in eating French because I have lost more than 10 pounds at this point, and am very much enjoying what I eat. I think his losing a few pounds cannot hurt the bp situation and we know he has high cholesterol and so it should help that too. And not dying would be a good thing any way you look at it.

In other news... it's fun to be a MN sports fan this year and I enjoyed Sunday's Viking/Steeler game even though we lost. Kevin would say we won, but I disagree. Sadly I wont get to watch this week's rematch against Green Bay because I will be at my second job trying to make some extra money for Christmas by selling some shoes.

Oh, and Halloween is on the Saturday we push the clocks back this year so despite the forecasted 30 degree temperatures, I expect to have a fun evening taking Abby and her cousins trick-or-treating after I slave over my annual pumpkin extravaganza. I was thinking of a redo on last year's Snow White and the Wicked Queen attempts, but so far I'm not feeling really excited by that. Maybe I'll be inspired another way by Saturday... I've seen some Twilight designs that look pretty cool, and it could also be fun to come up with something for Free Realms...
