Notes Through the Weekend

so i think i forgot to publicly thank God for the fact that our car accident was relatively injury free. we're a bit stiff and sore (me and dad anyway) but we'll visit our chiropractor and be fine. the totalled car and damaged trailer are a hassle, but my parent's have pretty much been mostly using their other car since mom hasn't been driving much since her surgery. so, yay God!

oh, and Yay God for our new music director at church. we got our first taste yesterday, and although he played over the cantor and the church singing just a little, he was definitely NOT pretentious like our former director. so, i'm still very hopeful that things will improve and the music is such an important part for me. i've never felt a strong pull to the Eucharist which catholics emphasize so much, but am totally connected spiritually through music. i'm sure that's one of the reasons why i'm such a Sanctus Real fan. through their music i can praise and worship and sing and it all Rocks! yay Holy Spirit!

and kevin was given 4 tickets to the Vikings/Steelers preseason game on saturday night. the loudness gave me a bit of a headache, but abby and my dad came along so it was a nice evening and abby was a blast to watch. she'd holler and scream and say "for whatever we're screaming about!" she had a great time. kevin was, of course, happy because the steelers won.

i babysat my sister's 3 kids on saturday too, and the day went very well especially considering i get a bit freaked out when the child count exceeds 2 and because ryan is very challenging at times. the little guy just pushes limits CONSTANTLY. for example, kevin took the kids to the park yesterday and told ryan to stop throwing sand and the very first thing the guy does is look you in the eye and throw sand at you as if to say, "yeah? and what are you going to do about it?" and of course, then they all have to leave the park with him screaming and crying all the way home. at this point he's a slow learner and just believes those consequences are not going to happen.

tonight, we get our family pictures taken for the next church directory. i'm including oscar.
