another monday

and here we are at another monday morning after another unremarkable, yet pleasant weekend.

let's see...events of the last week... my boss says she wants me to take on more of a partnership role in the company. ordinarily that ought to be exciting news, but it's another promotion without compensation so i'm ambivalent. but, i did step up a bit and instead of narrowing my eyes at the untrained collection department, i spent a couple of hours actually training them last week and am preparing new reports for our staff meeting and made the decision to include at least one of our remote employees in the pizza lunch by authorizing her to expense her lunch on wednesday and then we'll conference her in.

it was my parent's 49th wedding anniversary on friday. if you'll recall, last years blog talked about how i did not expect my mom to make it to anymore because of her smoking and smoking related health issues so what a difference a year makes and that she is actually alive. and of course, that almost didn't happen. so although she's still working through her recovery, i fully expect to plan a 50th anniversary party next year.

and that was contrasted with a wedding we attended on saturday. it was really a very nice event. the decorating and planning was really beautiful. great attention to detail without being "overdone". it was nice because it was my boss's daughter (who also works here) and so all of the company was invited. it was a nice social get together and a very happy occasion.

sunday was low key at home, and this morning started abby's first week back at zoo camp. so off we go into another week. at least they're short for me since friday's are half days at work now, i'm working them at home which means i have a 2 and a half day weekend every week now through labor day. and in July i'm taking some mondays and a week off so i've got some breathing time to look forward to. now if it would only warm up here...
