last week, despite the funeral was rather life affirming. after the funeral on tuesday abby and i met a friend from webkinzinsider. another moderator so it was safe. she was visiting the MOA from Alabama with her 7 year old son and husband and she asked if she could buy abby a ride pass so that abby could ride with her son. it was awesome. abby and forest ran from ride to ride for about 6 hours and corrine and i got to follow them and chat. it was nice to meet an online friend in person and to see the kids have so much fun.
then sunday was eryn's baptism. the day started cold and cloudy but the sun came out and it got into the 70s. it was beautiful. we spent the whole day at connie's playing with the kids.
and here's what i'm most excited about at the moment. abby has her first softball practice this evening (if it doesn't rain!) and so yesterday we played catch and did some batting practice for a couple of hours. she really did well. she's much more coordinated than i was at that age, and she listened to our suggestions to improve her catching and batting and she naturally throws well. i don't need for her to be a superstar, but i want her to play well enough that she has fun.
my parents just loved going to mine and my sister's games when we were kids, and i know they are looking forward to seeing abby play.
and, even for a social activity where i will be forced to meet and make small talk with other parents, i am looking forward to it too!
