so, nepotism exists at my company and the collection department manager is the owner's daughter. yesterday i was ready to flip out at her demanding emails. first off, she's fairly incompetent and likes to make other people look bad to cover her inadequecies. but i could probably deal with that. yesterday she was (once again) just telling me what to do and what my team should do. so, today i sent her (and CCd her mom) this message:
"By the way, I need to mention this because I find my blood pressure going up every time we have a discussion like this and I was awake very late last night going over this in my head. So, please take this knowing that my intent is to continue to improve our working relationship.
I cannot ever recall you using please or thank you when we’re discussing reports and other tasks that I and/or my team do to support you. It makes me feel like we are unappreciated admin assistants for you. I don’t need you to grovel for us, but saying please and thank you goes a long way toward making us feel like we are part of your team and not just your subordinates."
we'll see how that goes. i feel better anyway. bitch.
