Happy New Year!

Or rather, Happy New Year's Eve!
Nothing big planned here. picked up some crab legs at the grocery store and Dad will join us for dinner. Mom's working.

I'm at work today, but technically off tomorrow although i expect to do some work from home because i want to leave early on wednesday. it seems my grandma is not doing well. before christmas she had some small strokes, and since christmas her daughter says she's failing fast. doesn't want to eat or get up, just wants to sleep and is becoming jaundice which a nurse says is a sign her kidneys are shutting down. she's 92 and has been strong and healthy for her whole life. when my uncle (her youngest son) died 3 years ago, i could tell she was pissed off to have to bury children and wanted to be next. so, it will be a bit sad, but i'm kind of excited (not in a hurry up way, but in a positive expectation kind of way) for her to get to go home and see her parents, her husband, her brothers and sisters, her son and, oh yes, her God and Jesus. so, on wednesday i hope to go and visit her with my parents.

ok, so i'm rambling a bit. the days since christmas have been nice, and quiet. just staying home and playing with abby. abby and i went skiing on Friday and she did quite well.

oh, and we booked plane tickets to Hawaii in February again this year. Just one week on Oahu with my sister Becky. Becky said she really wanted us to go too, and it's oh, so difficult to twist my arm that way. but, poor oscar's going to be mad.

perhaps i'll add some year end reflections later. things are swirling in my brain, but i'd better get some work done.
