Late Night - not much information

but things are stable.

mom called just before 9:30 last night to say dad got sick at the legion and they were taking him to the hospital and asked me to meet her there so i did.

i got there just as the EMTs were bringing him in. he had gone to church and then dinner at the legion after painting at home most of the day. he started to not feel well, mostly gassy and so he went out to sit in the car after only eating half of his sandwich for dinner and one beer. a passerby found him passed out in the parking lot and called 911. although he didn't want to go to the hospital when he came to, the EMTs found that if he tried to sit or stand his blood pressure dropped dangerously low.

he was a terrible gray-yellow color and was slurring words when he got to the ER, and when they tried to get him to stand to take his blood pressure, it crashed again and he threw up. so, they kept him laying down and did an ultrasound of his stomach and other tests. their first concern was a ruptured aorta, so they did a CT scan.

after the 2 hours of testing and waiting, he was looking much better, speaking clearly and his blood pressure was back to normal and stable. the CT scan was happily normal, and initial blood tests looked ok too. but because his dad (at 76) and brother (at 57) dropped dead of sudden heart attacks, they kept him for more tests.

So, it's friday morning and after i do a little work, i'll go hang out back at the hospital. probably will be a boring day, but that's ok.

thanks for prayers. those are the best!
